SUMMARY OF POSITION

The computer and network maintenance technician is responsible for supporting the organization’s computing and telecommunication network operations and procedures. The technician works within a team environment to support telephone systems, which includes installation of cabling and phones, maintenance of the phone switch and voice mail, and customer service activities. The position is responsible for peripheral equipment, networks, communications equipment, and providing support for users’ software and hardware needs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, installs and performs testing activities on various computer equipment, peripherals, data communication and computer network systems.
  • Assembles, installs, configures and tests computer equipment or units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols.
  • Consults with and assists manufacturer’s representatives in the installation of new computer equipment; exercises total responsibility for routine installation or modification projects; assists other technicians or the director in repairing, installing and testing complex pieces of equipment or local area networks; submits equipment repair warranties.
  • Completes work orders such as installing equipment, connecting and moving devices or creating components of autonomous networks; installing disk drives; and correcting definitions on data switches, protocol converters, etc.
  • Uses electronic test equipment, such as optical power meters and multimeters, to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Uses computer-aided diagnostics and digital logic devices as needed to locate malfunctions. Calibrates test equipment for proper operation.
  • Develops and maintains software and hardware inventory and tracking systems; develops inventory lists and orders, stocks and stores electronic components.
  • Installs cable for phone system. Performs moves, adds, deletes and other changes for phone uses. Sets up calling features such as automatic call distribution (ACD) groups, pick groups, call processing and voice mail. Provides phone support and training to new users and solves miscellaneous phone problems.
  • Configures and sets up servers to work with various programs; installs software. Ensures server backups and networked user backups are performed on a regular basis.
  • Performs preventive maintenance for computer, data communication and/or peripheral equipment; tests and adjusts to appropriate standards.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years’ experience in computer network maintenance.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The install coordinator will supervise and oversee the installation of environmental signage and graphics at contracted installation sites. Install Coordinator will communicate with a network of contracted installer’s/service employees. This position will assist with the management and communication of the project details and best practice solutions in the assembly and set up of installations. This information will be shared with multiple involved internal departments, and other necessary parties to complete project installations and will contribute to recommending the materials to complete installations. This position requires travel to survey site/oversee completion of installation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all project installation work is completed in a safe manner.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered and installed to meet agreed design specifications, quality expected and contractually stipulated by the client.
  • Prioritizes workflow, communicates with production staff daily and supervises contract installers locally and remotely.
  • Communicate all necessary information to all parties on the project team, and within department related to completion of project installations
  • Installations on job sites and working at main office location on projects in Large Format department will be split throughout the year with time management dependent on workload.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:

Required Experience

  • 3+ years’ journeyman installation experience preferred.
  • 2+ years’ supervisory or equivalent experience required.
  • Job site surveying experience preferred.
  • Job estimating experience preferred.
  • Prior sign experience strongly required.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written skills required.
  • Highly organized, reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight timelines.
  • Ability to work effectively with varying personalities at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to travel several times a month.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:

  • High School diploma or GED; an accredited apprenticeship for graphics installation would be ideal or 1-3 years relevant experience.

The Lettershop Department processes between 3 and 4 million pieces of mail per month across a variety of mailing categories, including first-class mail, marketing mail, periodicals, etc.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position requires knowledge of inkjet operating systems, a strong mechanical and computer background and the ability to setup and operate equipment. This position requires standing for extended periods of time and will work overtime as needed to meet job requirements.

  • Operates Seacap and Kodak multi-head inkjet systems in a mailing environment.
  • Read and comprehend job tickets and written instructions.

  • Knowledge of USPS regulations as it pertains to sorting mail is a plus.
